Good morning, Friday! I am excited to check in this morning and share my favorites from the week (but really lately). It has been quite some time since I have done a traditional Friday Favorite posts, so I might have a few favorites per category today. If you have been reading for quite some time, you know I like to share my favorite things from the week when it comes to my munchkins, my eating, my workouts, what I am reading and any items I am loving. I’d love for you to join in on the “Friday Favorite” fun by leaving a comment and tell me what you are loving too.
After a short four day vacation to Georgia with my mom and my two munchkins, it was nice to get back to the swing of things this week. C is officially done with preschool and our summer has started! We are adjusting to our “new schedule”. I am trying to do as fun many summer things with them as I can now because I know once this baby arrives we will be a little “stuck” for a few weeks. I think I am going to love the next couple months of having two free days a week where we don’t have to be anywhere in the morning.
Friday’s Five Favorites
Oh and if you don’t follow me on Instagram, I’d love for you to: musclesandmunchkins. And if you do, well, you have probably already seen some of these pictures. Let’s get to my favorites!
Favorite Munchkin Moment(s)
We put up a swing set in our backyard and the kids love it! It is small and very basic and it is perfect for them. The best thing is I can send them out there while I am getting dinner ready in the evenings and they play so well. I love to watch them interact and learn to play together!
I have been long overdue for a pedicure and yesterday C and I adventured out for a girls afternoon. I sure do love taking my her have “girls only” moments and I hope she will remember them for years to come. My sweet husband worked from home in the afternoon and once M went down for a nap we snuck away to get pampered while M slept and Daddy worked.
I absolutely love listening to M talk! He is at that stage where he is adding new words every single day. I am not sure if I should be proud or bury my head, but he can now say “ice cream cone”. Each night he wants to read the same two books over and over: Llama Llama Red Pajama & Good Night Baseball. I love hearing him point to pictures when we read. When we read Good Night Baseball he says, “baseball, glove, bat, catch, run”.
As I am sitting here super sore this morning and thinking about my favorite workout from the week and the last couple of weeks, it is so hard to decide! My Cardio Sculpt class yesterday was TOUGH and I all the members loved it. I tried out some new complex exercises that I am going to feature in my online bootcamp and they were a hit!
I have also loved testing out some workouts I have written for my online bootcamp. I love it when I can get a good sweaty burn in under an hour and these have not disappointed. My mom even joined me for a couple when we were in Georgia and the “cardio-queen” loved the strength components to the workouts we did!
I have really not been cooking anything special lately. I feel like we do the same thing every night: grilled meat and some veggies. I have been stuck on my oatmeal for breakfast and eating a lot of chicken, avocado and tomato pitas or salads for lunch. I wish I would have snapped a picture, but yesterday I made an awesome salad based on things I had in the refrigerator: romaine, spinach, pulled pork, cucumbers, peaches, goat cheese, almonds and balsamic– it was delicious. I think I will have it again today.
I have loved and appreciated all the private messages, emails and comments I have received after sharing both my Fitness Meets Faith post and My 32 week Journey to Baby #3. I love this little community here and your encouraging words are what drives me each day.
Now that I am back to reading something other than NASM study materials, I have a ton on my nightstand and a million saved articles to catch up on! Right now I am really enjoying finishing up French Kids Eat Everything and can’t wait to give you a report on some things I am hoping to try in our house. I have also been enjoying a new devotion every morning: First 5 from Proverbs 31. I love starting my morning in God’s word and this is the perfect length for me. I love that I can read it in the morning and go back and get deeper later in the day.
I am totally in love with my new fitness tank: Baby Kicks & Kettlebells. Everyone knows my love for kettlbells, but I also love the softness and stretch of this tank. Old Navy discontinued my favorite maternity tank from last pregnancy and I have had a hard time finding anything and this has been my favorite so far.
Oh and my new shoes that I can’t wait to wear again tonight from JCrew. There is something about having cute shoes when I am pregnant that I love. I love a good pair of wedges and these don’t disappoint. Plus, they are navy blue and white so I am not sure how you could go wrong.
Note: that is not the link to the exact shoes I have, but one that is similar.
I always enjoy reflecting on my week by sharing the things I have loved- thanks for reading. I’d love to know what you are loving this week too. We are off to begin our busy, wedding-filled weekend and possibly a family 5k tomorrow morning. Have a great weekend, fit friends!
Your turn- tell me!
