It has been quite some time, almost two months exactly, that I have shared some of my favorites with you all. As I have stepped back to try and be more present, we have surely enjoyed many fun moments and I am excited to check in and share some things I am loving with you this week.
Favorite Munchkin Moment
What a wonderful week we’ve had! We have spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather, but today was my absolute favorite day with the kiddos. We had a nice morning and then headed out to Connor Prairie. About a month ago we went there on a rainy day to the indoor play area and I decided to buy a membership. I can’t believe I have not done this before! The outside is so open and free. The kids loved the animals, the little trails and spent a ton of time exploring and building at the Treetop Outpost. I love just watching them play and explore!
Not pictured: that other sweet munchkin of mine. S had a fun time watching the big kids play, and taking a nice little stroller ride. He is so laid back and just goes with the flow.
Usually my favorite workouts are the ones with others, but this week I just needed some me time. I set out in the evening (which is unusual for me too) for a few miles. It was so peaceful, the perfect temperature and was just what I needed. For me, running is more therapeutic than anything.
Each Sunday J fires up the grill and grills me chicken breasts for the week. I eat them for lunch almost every day. I put them in salads, make a huge bowl of chicken and veggies or even just sometimes eat them plain and cold. I have recently discovered a line of seasonings from Christy at The Tiny Little Chef and it has changed my grilled chicken game. At first I started using her House seasoning on chicken and veggies and it is amazing…. BUT this week we tried out the Blackened seasoning and it is a game changer. In the last few weeks, we have put these two seasonings on almost everything and it has made our meals so easy and delicious!
The best part is, Christy has offered a discount to my readers. Use the code: Hollie and get 20% off your order. I promise, you will not regret this. I will be using the blackened one this weekend to not only prep my chicken for the week but also for the chicken that is going in my Black Bean Soup this weekend (<—- you can see my favorite soups).
Kelly at Red Head on the Run nailed it this week with her post. I talked in my post about Less Hustle, More Balance about the tug I was feeling. Her post reaffirmed me that I am right where I need to be. It was like she was talking to me and took the words right out of my heart. She is one of those bloggers that I wish I could have go on a run with and then sit at the coffee shop and just chat. Plus, we are kindred spirits with our love for hats.
So a couple of weeks ago I joined the LuLaRoe craze. Yep, I can’t believe it. My friend was telling me about the leggings and since I am not one for crazy prints I didn’t think I would like them– then I realized they had solid prints. So I went to an open house that a friend from church was having to launch her business. I really wanted to look at the Randys (baseball tees). The pictures do not do them justice, people! This shirt is so comfy and the colors and prints are lovely. I have two and I love that I can wear them with jeans by themselves, throw a vest over them and even put them over my workout top and wear them pre and post workout with my workout pants.
I hope you take some time this weekend to reflect, to slow down and think not only the things you love but the blessings in your life. I am excited for a lovely fall weekend with my sweet family. I hope you all take time for some fall fun too.
