Whew, another long week at our house and I am happy to check in here with you today for another round up of my Five Favorites from the week. We have had a rough week of another round with the stomach flu for both kiddos, and an ear infection and four days of fever for M. I am happy to report we are finally feeling better and ready for a great weekend ahead.
After a week of missed workouts, sleepless nights, crackers for dinner it is nice sit down and pull out the silver lining from the week. I’d love for you to join in too and share your favorites with me.
Friday’s Five Favorites
Favorite Munchkin Moment
Our week has been spent in the house and making most of each day. I love that I am able to be the one that takes care of my kiddos when they are sick- what a blessing. The days are long and as hard as it can be, when it is all said and done I am glad that I have been the one to snuggle this little boy and read him book after book when he is under the weather.
It has also been fun to have some leisurely mornings. One day we got out the long paper and C painted until heart was content. It was so fun to hear her thought process when she was creating her masterpieces.
Favorite Workout
Another big shout out here to my friend Tracy. This has been a tough week for workouts. Let me be real here and say my workouts have been limited. Tracy came over to my house this morning at 6am for a garage workout! I had a busy day and knew I wasn’t going to be able to get it done unless I got it done early and going to the gym early wasn’t possible this morning. We knocked out a killer partner workout in my garage using three pieces of equipment: the olympic bar, a 25 pound kettle bell and of course the BOSU. We were done and full of sweat after 50 minutes- a great way to start my day.
Favorite Eat
Nothing fancy for meals in our house this week we either had leftovers, soup, grilled cheese, and one night I actually made hamburgers for dinner. However this morning I had to make a breakfast casserole for C’s Thanksgiving Feast at school and I chose my favorite blueberry banana baked oatmeal and I forgot how delicious it was. If you haven’t tried it, put it on your menu for the holidays.

I love this article I read on “Being More than a Number”. For along time after M I struggled with the scale never reading that exact number I wanted to see and finally broke up with the scale. Although my body had changed, I never met my goal number. I was stronger, faster and felt better than I ever had in my life. I fit into smaller jeans and feel better in sleeveless tops than I ever have in my life, but I was still letting the scale bring me down. This article talks about not letting that scale define you and looking deeper into how you feel and the progress you are making to meet your goals. Check it out!

I have been lighting my holiday candles each night and they bring me such joy! It is not just the smell, but also the mood that candles put me in that I absolutely love. C even asks to “light the candles, Mommy,” and it is really sweet. I even picked up some more at TJ Maxx the other day and I can’t wait to light them this weekend.
There you have it, friends, my favorites from the week. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home with my sweet little family. We have a few small plans here and there, but nothing major and it feels wonderful. The Mr. and I have a workout date set for tomorrow morning and I can’t wait to have him join me at the gym! I hope you take some time to do the things you love the most this weekend. Enjoy!
Your turn- tell me!
What are you loving this week?

I am so glad the kiddos are feeling better. That is no fun. I will take a head cold over the stomach bug any day. I hate winter for that reason!! I need to get some new candles, I have totally run out. Great idea to pick them up at TJ Maxx. I find a lot of good ones at Kohls too and they are always on sale!
