Oh Friday, how I always welcome you with open arms! I am doing a quick check in this Friday afternoon to post my favorites from the week- a chance for me to reflect and share the things that made me smile this week.
I have been cutting back on my weekly blog posts a little bit, don’t worry this isn’t forever. Any time that I get free and quiet from the munchkins has been spent studying as I am drawing close to my NASM personal training test.
Friday’s Five Favorites
Before I get to my studying this afternoon, I am sharing my favorites from the week. This week I want to go back to my traditional lists of favorites and share my favorite moment with my kids, my favorite workout, my favorite eat, my favorite read, and my favorite item. I would love for you to join along and leave what you are loving in the comments.
Favorite Munchkin Moment
We had a moment of warmth and sunshine this week and at our house we soaked it up and enjoyed a playing in the driveway, blowing bubbles and a walk. M spent most of his time chasing the bubbles and C loves blowing them (for him to chase of course).
When we walk, I love that M wants to get out of the wagon and walk on his own and sometimes that sweetly walk down the sidewalk holding hands. On our walk, they also decided to turn the bubble wand into a golf club and practicing golfing with the wand and a ball. Daddy was proud when he heard this!
Favorite Workout
My workouts were tough this week and I am not sure why! I am more sore than I usually am. My obsession with the rowing machine continues and I loved my early morning workout this morning with Tracy and the rowing workout we did. If the rowing machine includes the kettle bell is bound to be my favorite of the week- today wasn’t any different.
Favorite Eat
I wanted to channel a little bit of summer in my house so I made my favorite summer lunch several times this week. I love when J puts chicken on the grill for me to have for lunches for the week and this week I used it to make one of my lunchtime favorites: grilled pita, flat-out or tortilla topped with smashed avocado and sprinkled with a little garlic salt. Then topped with cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken and fresh ground pepper. YUM!
Favorite Read
I am going to be real here: I have been slacking on my reading. I read a whole lot of NASM and that is about it. I just finished up my chapter on flexibility this week and I am the world’s worst stretcher. Then I saw this article on Why Foam Rolling Should be Used in Group Training and I love it. Then I thought back to last week when I went to crossfit, everyone was foam rolling! I think they are onto something. I need to get better!
Favorite Item
Maternity clothes are in full effect here and I love my gap maternity jeans. I prefer the 1969 demi panel skinny jeans. Hands down, they are the best maternity jeans. In fact, I love them so much that I may almost like them better than my normal jeans.
And now it is time for a little bit of studying before we enjoy the weekend as a family. Nothing big on our agenda this weekend, just some family time. Enjoy your weekend, fit friends!
Your turn-tell me!
What are you loving lately?
Is there a particular lunch you love when the weather gets warmer?

A few weeks ago I ripped my (only pair of) maternity jeans, but since I was relatively close to the end – 30 weeks, maybe – I never replaced them. I’m almost 36 weeks now, and I miss jeans. But I’m hoping that it will push me to lose the weight fast – I yearn for jeans! BUT if you’re looking for a comfy pair of pants that can be used before and after the babe, Target makes an awesome pair of fold over yoga leggings. I have like 4 pairs that I’ve been living in hahah!

I wear my gap maternity jeans after for awhile– I love them. I don’t lose the weight very fast afterward so I hang on to them for awhile.
