It’s Friday and we survived our first full week home with two kiddos! We are excited for my sister (also known by Claire as Aunt CoCo) to come for the weekend.
Below you will find some of my favorites from the week. I’d love to know some of yours too- make sure you leave one or a few in the comments section. And don’t forget, for every comment you leave until September 30th, you will be entered in a drawing for the first-ever Muscles & Munchkins giveaway.
Favorite Munchkin Moment
Choosing one favorite moment with my two little munchkins is difficult. Max is just precious and Claire’s stage right now is so fun. I knew Claire would be a good big sister, but her tenderness each day amazes me. When I nurse Max, she likes to be right there next to me sometimes rubbing or kissing his head and other times she brings books for me to read to her. Yesterday, when Max finished eating she stood up on the couch and yelled, “Yay Max, he did so well!” Yes, those were my two-year olds exact words, and possibly her first full sentence. Her correct grammar made her teacher-mommy proud.
Favorite Eat
I didn’t do much cooking this week because we had a few meals brought to us. The one meal I did cook myself was my favorite of the week. You much try this Crockpot Apple Pork Loin: so easy, so delicious, and makes your whole house smell good. It was also “toddler friendly” and Claire had two helpings.
Favorite Workout
I got moving and increased my heart rate just three times this week: I did the WOW, ran a couple of miles one day, and did a stroller workout. The stroller workout was my favorite. My wonderful husband made sure we got the carseat adaptor on the Double BOB for when he went back to work and I headed out with both munchkins for a quick 20 minute stroller workout. I did my workout first and then we played at the park in our neighborhood before heading home. It was so nice to get out of the house and enjoy the weather, Max slept of course, and Claire was able to get some Mommy-only time at the park.
Favorite Read
A girl I know from the gym shared this article on her Facebook page this week and I think I’ve ready it three or four times. I am all for feeding my children healthy and having engaging activities over television time, but I need to give myself grace when this doesn’t happen during the day. I was feeling guilty for allowing Claire to watch Mickey Mouse Club twice in one day so I could get a few things done- then I came back and reread this. What is the most important thing we do with our children during the day? Is it showing them the way through scripture or is it making sure we look good through to other moms through the social media lens? I know I need to work on this. Bookmark this blogpost and keep coming back to it!

My “M” for my necklace came this week. I love this necklace! As a stay-at-home mom, I don’t wear much jewelry since I am usually in workout clothes or lounge clothes. I always wear earrings and I I like that I can also wear this necklace. I can wear it with my workout clothes- it is casual compared to all of my other jewelry. You can find this necklace here.
