Good afternoon! I am late to the Friday’s Five Favorites party and skipped last week due to the holiday, but I am ready to get back to my regular routine. We spent a great week at Boyne Mountain skiing (recap coming soon) and I have spent the morning unpacking and planning and organizing for the New Year (more on that later too).
Most of my favorites from the week are centered around our awesome ski trip, but I didn’t want to indulge too much before the recap I will share on Monday.
Favorite Munchkin Moment
It was a great week spending quality time with both of my kiddos this week on our ski trip. Even though M couldn’t ski, it was great to have one-on-one time with him while J was skiing with C- I don’t get this time often.
I absolutely loved my time skiing with C. Sharing an activity that I love with her made me so happy. She did so well skiing and really loved it- I was proud!
Sometimes I get sad that they are both growing so fast, but this made me look forward to the future as they can do more and I can share more with them: throwing & hitting the baseball, running, rollerblading, riding bikes, playing volleyball, and just being an active family.
Favorite Workout
Skiing with a toddler is a workout in itself and when I wasn’t skiing with C or by myself, I was taking turns staying with M. Although I still managed to do a couple body weight circuits in our hotel room. I saw a version of this one on Pinterest and added to it for a good sweat.
Favorite Eat
I followed zero nutrition rules on our ski trip. Well I guess the rule was: make sure you drink lots of water, indulge in good beer and enjoy your trip. My favorite part of being at Boyne is the breakfast each morning. I enjoyed having my own omelet made to order by the omelet chef each morning. My favorite combination was: egg whites, spinach, tomato and jalapeño.
Favorite Read
One of my goals for 2015 is to work on cutting down our processed food intake even more (more on this in a coming blog). I have been reading a lot of the following blogs to help me with this: Real Fit Real Food Mom, Real Mom Nutrition & 100 Days of Real Food– check out these blogs.
Favorite Item
Am I allowed to share the same favorite item again and again? I guess since this is my blog there are no rules. Let me tell you once again how much I love this Old Navy Sweatshirt.
Since I have the black and gray one I took them both skiing and they were perfect. I wore them under my ski coat and the cowl neck allowed me to pull it up over my face and tuck it under my ski goggles to protect my face from the wind. Not to mention perfect, cute and comfortable to wear when I was not skiing.
