Good afternoon, rainy Friday. It has been a great day here at our house complete with an afternoon nap for everyone… including daddy. The only thing we have on tap for the weekend is a long run and breakfast with my running friends tomorrow morning. After that it is a weekend of zero plans and just family time!
If you are new to the blog, welcome! On Fridays, I share my favorites from the weekend: my favorite moments with my munchkins; my favorite workout from the week; my favorite thing I ate this week; my favorite read; and my favorite item of the week. I love sharing my favorites with you all and would love to hear about your’s as well. Let’s get to it…
Friday’s Five Favorites
Favorite Munchkin Moment
There is no doubt that celebrating my little girl turning 3 was my favorite munchkin moment (check out my tribute to her). We started the day by her coming down stairs, tearing her last link on her Birthday chain and then getting 3 donut holes with candles in it. I lit the candles at breakfast, in her pajamas and sung to her. As soon as she was done she said, “I am three now, Mommy.” I loved making her day special for her!
Favorite Workout
If you missed this “Take it to the Street” workout, you need to check it out. 30 minutes of sweating that included sprints and lifting- I loved it. The best part was I didn’t have to waste 20 minutes going to the gym and 20 minutes driving home. It was 30 minutes total since I did it in my garage and down my street!
Favorite Eat
If you follow me on Instagram you have seen my food pictures. If you do not follow me, check it out…oh my heavens my Blue Apron meals been awesome. I can’t wait to do a total recap on the meals, but this week I loved the Catfish and Frekkah.
Favorite Read
I had my favorite read of the week all ready to share with you and then I came across this article this afternoon on tithing. I am really just speechless at some of these facts about tithing. My husband is such an awesome example for our family and he and his parents have taught me that it is not about equal giving but about equal sacrifice. I get so frustrated when I here people say, “I wish we could afford to give.” God will provide- and he does!
Here are some of the things I found sad… actually pathetic:
“When surveyed, 17% of Americans state that they regularly tithe.”
“The average donation by adults who attend U.S. Protestant churches is about $17 a week.”
And here are the things I found powerful:
“People are more likely to practice tithing when they begin the practice in their teens or early twenties.”
“People who tithe regularly typically have less debt than other demographics – 8 out of 10 have zero credit card debt and 28% of them are completely debt free, including not having a mortgage.”
Favorite Item
A couple of months ago I broke down and purchased a wireless speaker for my outdoor workouts. I love it! This week I have been using it inside to listen to my podcasts and I love it. The munchkins and I also enjoy some dance parties courtesy of this awesome little thing.
I hope you have had an enjoyable week too and have thought about some of your favorites from the week. I have some exciting things planned for next week, so stay tuned. Until then, have an awesome weekend!
Your turn- tell me!
