Good morning, Friday. I have already been to the gym this morning for an early morning workout with Tracy and am enjoying a quiet cup of coffee while writing this post. I have a busy Friday ahead of me that will also include stepping foot back into the classroom to be the guest reader to a group of 1st graders- I am excited!
Friday Favorites
Before my day gets started, I am here to share my favorites from the week. It has been a rough week at our house the stomach flu, teething and just too many days spent in the house. I am thrilled we are on the mend and ready for a fun weekend. Sharing my favorites from the week helps me remember the silver lining of a tough week.
Favorite Munchkin Moment
Although these two were under the weather this week, I sure did soak up the snuggles I got from them. I can’t remember the last time C fell asleep on me and it happened on Wednesday. She wanted me to hold her while she watched a movie on the couch and she fell right asleep on me. I just stayed put for awhile. Luckily M was also napping upstairs so I didn’t move C until I heard him wake up from his nap.
Once I heard him I rolled her onto the couch where she slept for another 2 hours! I didn’t want to chance M waking her up so he and I went into my room after nap where he and I snuggled for a good amount of time too. I hated them not feeling well, especially C who had the stomach flu, but the rare snuggles were sure nice.
Favorite Workout
The last two weeks I have gotten to get back to Piyo. I always make these goals to do Piyo once a week and I only do it if I can actually go to a live class. Unfortunately I can’t always make the live early morning class, but when I can I try my best to get there. I love the midweek stretch and meeting my friends early in the morning. I am a terrible stretcher so this is awesome for me and my body is liking it. I also like that I get home by 6:30 am showered and dressed by 7am and have the rest of the day.
Favorite Eat
Nothing I made this week tickled my fancy as much as the suishi I had J pick me up from the grocery last night. After a long week, I didn’t feel like eating leftovers and suishi just sounded awesome- and it was.
Favorite Read
Let’s turn this week’s Favorite Read into Favorite Watch. I haven’t been reading much this week because I have spent my normal reading time watching “Friday Night Lights”. I am not one who really watches much TV and it is hard for me to find a series I really like and I love this one. We are still on season 1 and I am really enjoying it.
Favorite Item
You know you are in your 30s when you get excited about a new coffee maker and that I am! We are late to the single cup coffee maker game, but we’ve made the switch…. well, sort of. We finally purchased the Hamilton Beach 2-way coffee maker that can make a full pot or a single cup and I love it! It is perfect for the afternoons when I need just one cup of coffee and not a full pot.
And now I am off to tackle the day and hoping the day and weekend will bring me as much happiness as snuggles, Piyo, suishi, “Friday Night Lights” and a new coffee maker. Take a moment yourself and think about what you are loving this week, I promise it will help you look at life through a much more positive lens.
Your turn- tell me!
What are you loving this week?

I just got the Piyo dvds and I’m really liking them! Live classes don’t happen too often in our tiny town.

That is fun, Kate! I hope you enjoy them. I can’t do the DVDs. I have them, but have never been good at doing DVDs so I am super glad we have a live class.

Oh goodness, those rare naps on momma are so, so precious. I feel like after 9 months, they evaporated and then kind of reappeared a little in the past few months (mine is 17 months) Maybe once or twice a month after a not so great nap he’ll fall back asleep on me and it’s amazing.

Soak them up!
