It is Friday and my to-do list is 3 miles long. I crossed off a bunch of items this morning and I feel like it is continuing to grow. No better way to slow down and relax for a second then to take a deep breath and think about my favorites from the week. Honestly, for me, writing is a great way to relax and slow down so I am happy to be here sharing my favorites from this week.
It has been a busy week here wrapping up last minute items for the Girls on the Run 5k TOMORROW! It is always so exciting to see months of planning come to fruition. In addition the the 5k planning, we have had to be creative this week as it is starting to get too cold to spend a lot of time outside- darn winter. Despite the busyness and cold, we have had a great week.
Friday’s Five Favorites
Favorite Munchkin Moment
I love being with my children, there is no doubt. I love doing all things with them. I am usually right next to them reading, coloring, playing and exploring. Sometimes it is nice to just sit back and listen and watch them interact together. I took a couple extra moments this week to do this and it is so heart warming. They love holding hands and walking out of our gym together.
Favorite Workout
My workouts this week have been sub par. We all have weeks where our workouts are not on. To be honest, I have worked out only three times this week and they have all been my classes I have taught. I did do an interval run on the treadmill one day before I taught. Other than that, it it weren’t for teaching I am not sure what I would have done. I just haven’t felt it this week- sometimes we have those weeks. So of the three days I actually worked out, I would say my class yesterday was my favorite. I used this Jillian Michels inspired workout and it was great. I love any workout that combines lifting weights and high intensity cardio- this does it. I hope to sneak in a 20 minute garage workout at some point today and am keeping my fingers crossed.
Favorite Eat
Nothing with sugar that is for sure! I am on day 5 of no sugar and I am not going to give in now. I have really had to be creative in my cooking and modify a lot of recipes. This chicken pasta was my favorite thing I made this week. After I posted my eats on Wednesday, several people asked for my version of this recipe. I hope to create it within the coming weeks and get it up on here for you all.

One of my favorite bloggers is Sally from Real Mom Nutrition. I feel like she is just that: real. She feeds her kids pretzels and gives them sour patch kids… and she is a dietitian. There is so much pressure placed on parents and what they feed their kiddos. I feel the pressure daily. I struggle to get my three year old to eat veggies and it kills me. Here I am a fitness professional, I blog about eating healthy and I can’t get my own child to eat anything green- lovely. Sally makes me feel like I am not alone. She has truly stopped the food shaming and provides great advice to parents. I found this old post of her’s the other night after a bad night of dinner time: Coming to Terms with a Not So Perfect Dinner Time and it made me feel a whole lot better.

My personal shopper, Tracy, picked up a shirt from me a couple of weeks ago from Old Navy. I can wear workout pants all day everyday, but when it comes to leggings, I never know what to put with them. I know you are supposed to wear a tunic, but I can never find ones I love or I don’t know if they are long enough. I finally gave in and decided to give this Old Navy one a shot the other day
and I love it. It was the most comfortable outfit and cute! I think I will just start having her shop for me.
Now I feel a bit more relaxed- whew. What a wonderful way to reflect on the week by taking a minute to think about all of the things that have brought joy to my week. I’d love to hear about what you are loving this week: maybe a great workout, a favorite recipe, or someone or something that really inspired you. Have a great weekend!
Your turn- tell me!
What are you loving this week?
Wha do you do when you have a week of sub par workouts?

Thank you so much for including me in your Friday Favorites and for all of the nice words you said about my blog. It means a lot to me, and I love hearing that I am helping someone feel less guilty and less stressed! Have a wonderful weekend and stay the course with the veggies–they’ll catch on!

I live in my leggings and tunics when I’m not in my workout gear. Totally my favorite outfits!
