Wow, I am officially 36 weeks with Baby #3 and just one more week until this third little one is full term. I don’t expect delivery to come anytime soon and I know I have at least 4 weeks left. With that 4 weeks I plan to stay as active as I can and continue to listen to my body, enjoy as many summer activities with my other two as possible and sneak in a couple more date nights with my hubby.
Keep reading to see what else is going on as we add the third little munchkin to our crew.
Weight Gain
I have gained another 6 pounds in the last 4 weeks to make it a total weight gain of 36 pounds! The interesting piece here is when I got on the scale to check this month, I was for sure I hadn’t gained much because just two weeks ago at my appointment I weigh the same amount. Those 6 pounds came between weeks 32 and 34 and I haven’t gained a single pound in the last two weeks.
You can read why I have decided to share my weight gain with my readers on my 12 week post here.
Symptoms
I am getting hot, but that is expected My hips are also starting to hurt again which is making it so much harder to sleep at night. Other than being hot and hurt hips I feel great. There are some days where I don’t feel like myself and I feel just beat down, but I have only had three or four of those. After all, I am 36 weeks pregnant and probably should feel like that more often.
I also get heartburn sometimes. I know the old wives tale is, “that means you baby has a lot of hair,” but I know that will not be the case. I had mild heartburn at the end with both C & M.
Workouts
I am officially down to 5 workouts a week! My hips have been telling me that I need to take that midweek break and so that is what I do. I have also added two more classes to my schedule for the month of June and dropped one at my normal gym so I am back to teaching 4 times a week. The good thing is, two of them I can do more of a coaching style.
When I am doing my own workouts, I am still lifting fairly heavy weight, but can definitely see that I am getting fatigued faster. Most of my own workouts are anywhere from 30-45 minutes. I also did a Saturday morning crossfit workout this past weekend which I loved and was awesome!
I didn’t give myself a mile test, but I did run two 5ks in the past four weeks so I will take that instead.
Food Aversions & Cravings
I am having the strangest mid afternoon meat aversion. For some reason around lunch time I always has these great intentions of having a lean meat and some veggies and usually end up only eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Mainly, I am just not very hungry right how, which is completely different from how I have been the rest of this pregnancy.
I think my thirst is making up for my lack of hunger because I am thirsty all the time. If I were to count the amount of ounces I drink every day I am sure it would surpass two gallons of water!
Goals
My official goal now is to make it to the end. I am so close and I want to continue to be active until the very end; even if being active means going for a walk. I know that living this fit life while pregnant will make my labor and delivery go smoother as well as help me get back to my normal self after birth.
Sleep
I am not sleeping well. This sweet little baby of mine has 4 weeks to figure out his/ her days and nights. If it isn’t getting up every hour or two to go potty, I am waking up due to someone playing punching and kicking in my belly– and they kicks and punches sometimes hurt! Falling back asleep is hard and my mind is racing. I don’t remember this with M as much as I do with C: I would have such a hard time falling back to sleep that I would get up and go to the couch and work on lesson plans (I was a teacher at the time). Now I just toss and turn until I fall back asleep.
Feelings & Fun
After several weekends of pure busy-ness (check out my recap) and commitments, we have declared the month of June as time to just be. This means if we want to cookout with friends, we do; if we want to go to the lake, we do; and if we want to stay at home and do nothing, well then that is what we do.
We also have finished C’s big girl room and it is by far my favorite room in the house. M has his big boy bed in his room and we just need to hang on his decorations on the wall. This means Baby SK has a room and a crib in there and nothing will get decorated until he or she comes.
Speaking of the baby’s arrival, I am officially guessing that he/ she will make his/ her grand appearance on July 8th- fashionably late like my other two. A July 8th Birthday would put my five days past my due date, which also happened with the other two.
This means I have a little more than 4 weeks to go and if I am correct, I will be back in just 4 weeks for that 40 week update. I have enjoyed sharing my journey to Baby #3 with you all and can’t believe I have just one more post to write. Thank you for reading.
