Online Bootcamps are popping up everywhere and there is a good reason for it: they work. If choose the right trainer, online bootcamps can most certainly help you reach your health and fitness goals and for a good reasons.
We are finishing up the second round of my SUMMER STRONG online bootcamp and the results have been awesome. Let’s go beyond the weight and inches lost, these women are getting stronger, faster and they feel better because they are making health and fitness a part of their day every single day. Choosing the right online bootcamp with a good, quality trainer is key. Before I was a trainer, I ran some fitness challenges and there was a big difference between the two. My fitness challenges were good, not great. Now I am able to write my own programs backed by science and quality exercises as well as I have the tools to coach my clients through the program, their needs and modifications.
Why Do Online Bootcamps Work?
I know why my online bootcamps work, but I thought I would ask my participants why they thought the bootcamps worked and here is what they said:
1. It is CONVENIENT!
“I’m working out on my patio or in the garage!” says Libby. Randi says, “I can do this at home with my two children.” For some, going to the gym takes too much time as the drive in itself can add 45 minutes. These workouts can be done at home, they are short & effective AND it takes no thought or scouring the internet for the perfect workout.
2. I am held ACCOUNTABLE
“Posting in a private Facebook group holds me accountable.” If you have been quiet or skipped a workout for a couple of days it is noticed whether you like it or not. Being held accountable by your peers is motivating.
3. It DRIVES me
The finishers, the you vs. you mentality and the motivation to be better each week. Even though there is no real competition or prize, if you are a little competitive there is a
layer of that to better yourself each workout and each week.
4. The COACH
Just like in high school sports, you want to do what your coach says because they know best. There is absolutely no difference here. Although I am not the boss, I know that my coaching makes a difference and even adults don’t want to let their coaches down. “Having you available via email or messenger is comforting and encouraging.”
5. It is an INVESTMENT
No one likes to waste money (unless it grows on trees) and this is no difference. You paid your hard earned money to be a part of this program. I have coached fitness challenges, free fitness challenges, online bootcamps and VIP virtual training and have found the best results are when my participants are making a true investment. A true investment is not $20, it is something that makes them a little uncomfortable and probably make a sacrifice. One participant said, “I gave up my monthly Stitch Fix for this, I better do my workouts.”

Yes, all these reasons are reasons why my online bootcamps WORK, but there is ONE more: THE PROGRAMMING! I have programmed each week with thought; I do not just throw a random workout here and there. There is reason for every single workout and where it is placed. There is a reason for the amount of reps, the amount of rest, and the exercises chosen.
You know what else? The results are happening not just because of the workouts. The results are happening because they are building muscle which helps burn more calories at rest. The results are happening because they are feeling better and are motivated because they nutrition is on track. And the nutrition is on track because there are other ideas looking at it.
