The holiday season is in full effect. We spent our weekend hosting a Christmas party and then with our annual cookie back at my mom’s house. What a blast we had! Although I prefer experiences that create memories for Christmas gifts it is also nice to get a few items I really want or will use every day. Gift guides are popping up everywhere and here are ten ideas for that Fitmom in your life.
1. Heart Rate Monitor
Every fitness enthusiast needs a heart rate monitor. This has helped me take my workouts to a different level and really understand what I am doing to my body. I recommend the Polar FT7.
2. Half Zip Jacket
The Fitmom can never have too many half zip jackets. I even wear the lighter ones in the summer. These are the best thing to throw on before and after a workout and be able to run errands. I wear one every day. My most favorite half zip jacket is from TJ Maxx, but I have recently saw a girl at the gym with this Nike one on and it is now on my wish list- I love the black and white.
3. Non Slip Headband
You will never see me at the gym or on a run without a headband. This is a great stocking stuffer for the Fitmom in your life. Even if she already has one or two, you can never have enough. You can order them from Chica Bands, but my personal favorites are the sparkly ones my friend Heather at Logo Bomb makes. They can also personalize them for your favorite local team or organization.
4. Weightlifting Gloves
I have been lifting more weights lately and I am getting calluses on my hands and think it is time to invest in some gloves. I am adding these gloves to my list this year. If you have a woman in your lift who likes to lift, this is a great gift option.
5. Carabiner & Hair Ties
Another great stocking stuffer for the female fitness enthusiast. Getting to the gym and realizing you do not have hair tie is awful, and one breaking in the middle of your workout is even worse. Fill a carabiner with hair ties and the woman in your life will never run into this situation while working out again.
6. Kettlebell
I have recently developed a love-hate relationship with the Kettlebell. The workout options with a kettlebell are endless, but chances are you will hate it the next day. This is the perfect piece of at-home equipment.
7. Gift Card
Some think gift cards can be impersonal, but a fitness-geared gift card would make any Fitmom happy. While I love my gym, I like trying out other speciality classes that my gym doesn’t offer: crossfit, pure barre, hot yoga, etc. A gift card to someone’s own gym would be great so she could partake in some of the classes or personal training that costs extra.
8. Socks
A Fitmom can never have enough athletic socks. I love getting workout socks as a gift because it is one of those items you have to have, but I don’t like buying them for myself. These Gizmo socks are my favorite and are my go-to race day socks.
9. Knit Ear Warmer
When you are a Fitmom your hair spends a lot of time in a pony tail, which can be cold on your ears in the winter. These knit ear warmers are perfect for coming in and out of the gym and not having to worry about getting that pony tail under a hat.
10. Vest
I talked about my love for my Lands End vest in my Friday’s Five Favorites. A down vest is the perfect fall, winter and early spring apparel for going to and from the gym. I am also waiting for Target to restock this white C9 vest in my size, and if that fails, this Columbia one is pretty awesome.

Good one, Elita. What do you use ankle weights for? I have never used them.
