Friday’s Five Favorites #31

It’s Friday and what a beautiful Friday it is here in Indiana: the sun is shining, the temperature is absolutely perfect and I am pumped for a date night tonight with my love.  Besides a little hiccup in the week when M had to get stitches, we have had a great week.

There are so many things I have loved this week and I am here for my usual Friday post sharing my five favorites from the week. I’d love to hear from you too, leave me a comment and let me know what you are loving this week.

Friday’s Five Favorites

Favorite Munchkin Moment

We have done a great job of just being this week.  We have enjoyed a lot of time outside and besides me teaching two classes this week we have had no other large commitments.  Today I forewent my gym trip and both of the kids got in bed with me this morning and we had some extra snuggles before coming downstairs to start our morning- it was wonderful.  These two bring me so much joy!

Favorite Workout

My favorite workout also came today.  I love it when the kids can join me for a run even though it is so much harder for me to run while pushing both of them, I still enjoy it.  The temperature this morning was perfect: 65 degrees with a nice little breeze when we set out for our run.   The route we ran was peaceful and we saw a lot of bunnies and talked about the different things we saw in nature.  Not to mention it was awesome to be able to just put the little ones in the double BOB while wearing their pajamas (and with a runny nose… and the waving of a flag of course).

I did a short 3 miles that incorporated some 45 second sprints.  The 45 second sprints were tough especially when I had to do one going up a hill… and pushing the jogger.  Throughout our run C often said, “Run super duper fast, Mommy!”  At the end of the run, I let her get out and run alongside me- she loves this!

I finished up my workout by doing the same workout I posted on Instagram on Tuesday but taking out the sprints.  It was tough once again!

Favorite Eat

Dinners at our house were not too fancy this week, but my favorite had to be the Chicken Sausages from Fresh Thyme that I posted about here on my “What I Ate Wednesday” post.  We had left overs and I have also cut them up and put them on a salad and in an egg scramble.  We will be returning to Fresh Thyme to get more of those.

Sharing my favorite eat from the week: Fresh Thyme chicken sausage.

Favorite Read

My good friend sent me this article awhile ago and I keep reading it over and over.  I love the approach on slow parenting.  I often times feel pressure that C is not in tennis, and gymnastics, and swimming, and dance, and soccer… then I reread this and I remember that I am in the right place.  I feel I am doing what is best for her and for our family.  We have a lot of years to run from activity to activity.

Favorite Item

If you read last week’s post you know that I was loving my mom’s Garmin and I was debating on which one to buy.  I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Garmin 220 for myself and I love it! I did the heart rate monitor add on and love this feature as well.  I can’t wait to go on a long run tomorrow with it.

Having time with my family is my absolute favorites of every week.  I am so glad I was able to get in some extra snuggles this morning and we could enjoy a fun run together.  I truly cherish each day I have with them (even when we have hiccups like stitches).

Have a great weekend, friends!
