Did you know that “What I Ate Wednesday” is actually all over the internet? Starting by the wonderful Jenn over at Peas & Carrots, What I Ate Wednesday is a large link up amongst many bloggers- I am just late to the game. The awesome thing about #WIAW is it doesn’t have to be showcasing what you at on actual Wednesday, you can showcase what you ate any day… just post it on Wednesday.
#WIAW
I have really enjoyed posting what I have eaten for all of you. This post is not about comparison, judgement, guilt or restriction. This post is all about sharing something we all have in common: eating. I also help it gives you some inspiration for meal time at your house.
On this Wednesday, I am sharing with you what I ate yesterday (Tuesday).
What I Ate
I started my day with several cups of coffee and chugged a glass of water after every cup. This was the last Tuesday my little ones would go to the babysitter since summer is coming to an end so I sat and drank my coffee and water and knocked out some work.
Breakfast
I soon realized it was 9:30 and hadn’t had breakfast, and wanted something quick that would fuel me for my workout so I whipped up a smoothie: 1/2 banana, a handful of blueberries, almond milk, vanilla protein, natural peanut butter and ice. I realized that on all of my posts I have had smoothies- I don’t have one every day. I try very hard to chew (not drink) my protein and my food and I go for the smoothie when I am in a hurry and usually end up drinking them about twice a week for pre or post workout meal.
Post Workout
After my though workout (you can find it on Instagram) I did not follow any of my post workout rules: protein and carbs. Instead I broke the rules and ate an apple with cinnamon, almond butter and a handful of sunflower seeds. I also snuck in a handful of dark chocolate covered acai blueberries that are not pictured… yet.
Lunch
That little snack kept me full for awhile into the afternoon when I cooked my late lunch around 1:30pm. I opted for four fresh eggs (from my sister in law’s chickens!) scrambled and sautéed peppers in a corn tortilla topped with siracha of course. That was filling lunch, but of course I needed another (okay two) bowls of more dark chocolate acai blueberries to run my errands.
Snack
I ran my errands and stopped at Fresh Thyme before picking up the munchkins. As I was shopping around I had a sample of this delicious suishi. It was so good I went back to buy some and ate another sample.
Dinner
As we cooked dinner, J and I split this awesome spicy tuna from the deli at Fresh Thyme and I highly recommend it. I think I will be going to pick this up often. While we at the suishi I also drank a glass of sauvignon blanc.
Our dinner came together quickly and was awesome. After several recommendations from my friends, I tried the fresh chicken sausage from the meat counter at Fresh Thyme and it was awesome. J said, “we won’t be buying anything else anymore.” We grilled the chicken sausages alongside some grilled zucchini, corn on the cob and kale chips. The dinner was filling and I didn’t even go back for another piece of corn on the cob like I usually do.
Dessert
Once the kids went to bed I think I ate two more handfuls of dark chocolate acai blueberries. Get those things out of my house! I don’t even know why I put that big bag in my cart when I was at Costco. I like to think that I can just have a small handful and be done with it, but I can’t- they are addicting.
On this What I Ate Wednesday I ate way too much sugar and need to get those silly things out of my house! The thing about sugar is it keeps you coming back for more and I can’t just eat one handful. I am pretty sure I ate my share of treats yesterday for the whole week. Let’s see if I can resist them for the rest of the week.
Check out my other What I Ate Wednesday posts: #1 and #2.
